Yesterday as we were driving up the Thames Coast(NZ) we came across this scene ... a man walking a flock of about 25 ducks up the side of the road.. a quick U turn to check out what he was doing and where he was going ... He was returning them to the Camp ground after they went for a bit of a wonder down stream.. As they were 'wild' ducks we did wonder why .. and I would think they would make a bit of a mess around the Camp ground .. They appeared all to be young ones and the adult ducks were on the other side of the fence making a bit of a racket..
How odd, no wonder you did a U-ie. At first glance I though this was a shot from Asia, then I read your caption narrative, then I scratched my head. Why on earth would he be herding ducks, especially wild ones?? Takes all sorts.
Certainly was worth a u-turn. He was an interesting character and was happy to have his photo taken and do an interview as he walked along. I guess it beats herding cats!
