Composition-wise I likt this the best of the three bathers images, but its too unfocused for my taste. Because the subject is obviously the people, I find myself straining to see more detail in them -- to see faces. I like the level of out-of-focus on the one you posted on the 23rd the best. Enough to know it was a deliberate choice, but not too much. The other isn't enough and looks like poorly focused by mistake. It would be different for me if the scenery were subject, with incidental human figure included. Then this much blurriness might feel right.
@mcsiegle thanks for that, getting just the right amount of focus was tricky, this was all done in camera. looking at cezannes bathers, he went virtually abstract over time, that was what i was playing around with here, how much blur can the image cope with and still be recognisable as figures?
