took this in black and white with red filter setting in camera, and then realised i had the camera set to RAW so i used the channel mixer again, its actually growing on me as a quick way to get the best from a black and white .

Nice shot, I was a jpg devotee until getting my Fuji x100 now everything I do is in raw due to the scope it allows me in post.

This is very effective in black and white - and interesting that you're enjoying the control over black and white from using the channel mixer.

Before setting you this week's Get Pushed challenge I've just checked what the flash of red requirements are for this week - using the same thing to focus on all week. Your challenge works with that, but it's not going to work with my first thought which was panning. How about a challenge when you focus on the shadow of your object, either by using the shadow as part of the composition or even as the main subject?
