@30pics4jackiesdiamond it takes a while for the wave to get to you after an earthquake out to sea, but nope i wouldnt want to be caught by one! i feel for all the people who had to get their families up in the middle of the night to get to higher ground.
Such a long and strong one! Did some earthquake practise at school today since it’s on liquefaction prone reclaimed land. Decided not to stay on the boat tonight.
I heard about the potential for this on the news and thought about you. Glad you were untouched and had no damage where you are. Hope the rest of the country was a lucky.
@farmreporter these signs are permanent at the beaches, a reminder that if you experience an earthquake that is longer than 1 minute or so strong you cant stay on your feet you need to get to higher ground asap
no-one died or was injured to my knowledge, the evacuations were pre-emptive, and a long way from me .
Is that sign up all the time or just when a tsunami is expected?
