This is one busy mum, she swoops down on the lawn from the cabbage tree where her nest of increasingly demanding hungry babes is every ten minutes or so to hunt for worms, there must be millions lurking there because she always seems to find a beakful.
I used hdr efex to process this for the technique challenge, mainly because I was shooting into the light and lost detail in her face and plumage. handy.
Excellent shot - we have 4 families of birds in our garden and today, sadly, I found that the neighbours cats had been at one of the nests...2 babies on the ground dead...sadness
@graemestevens aw, hate our cat when she does that, she can climb cabbage trees, but she hasn't found this nest, adult blackbirds aren't usually on her menu, but if they nest in the roof she will have them.
