I spent the day making cyanotypes in the sunshine, it was a lot of fun. I bought the kit last year but this was the first time i had inspiration to try it out. The kit consists of two chemicals which you mix together and paint onto the paper with a sponge, leaving it to dry in a dark place. Then arrange your items, pressing anything that could blow away under a piece of glass , development took around 5-7 minutes in the bright high-UV NZ light. The paper is rinsed under water to develop the final image, then left to dry. I have always loved the colour of cyanotypes. Next time i will use better quality paper.
whoa! this is soooo fine. I love the tones of cyanotype as well. I like your arrangement, the quote, how you integrated the quote in the composition. is that thin frame that is visible inside the blue the edge of the glass?
i think this would fit in the 'framed' theme of the week challenge :D
@kali66 I don't know if you can order from the US, but I got the fabric at Dharma Trading Co. https://www.dharmatrading.com. They have a lot of neat supplies. put sun painting in the search on that site. You may be able to get these supplies closer to home, but this might give some ideas as to what is available.

This is a neat process.
pretty easy to do but it took me a while to think of ideas for it, you can get photo negatives printed on acetate and use those.
