Fritillaria meleagris

Todays April word is 'cherish'. I have always wanted to grow these plants after seeing them in a wild woodland meadow garden in Sweden a few years ago. I only have these few, but they have now survived two years in my hosta and fern border and I think I actually have seedlings too this year - so hopefully they will spread naturally over time in this particular spot.
Wow, these are so unusual, fabulous colour

Such lovely flowers that for some reason will not grow in my garden.

Funny. I have seen these for the first time on the 4th of April this year. Yesterday I came across an article on photography in the Internet, with a photo of this plant, and now this. What a coincidence. BTW: Nice capture.

Belong to my favorites too. And I love the dof and the gorgeous bokeh here.
