Expanse

If I knew where I was going
nothing could stop me,
this much I know.

Just one preordained conclusion,
a destination.
Somewhere to go.

The bridge ahead seems sure enough,
and wide enough,
to dance.

This direction will propel me,
to find my place
on this expanse.

A bridge - especially a stunning one like this - is a nice metaphor for the life challenge in the poem - there is a void to cross before we might arrive. I also like that it also lends allusion to crossing the Rubicon - something that not all of us are brave enough to do. Thought provoking work as always Kevin.
