I think we learned that as "mackerel" clouds in school, but I never hear them referred to as such so I may be wrong. At any rate, great photo.

@reba - just today there was a picture in the paper of clouds just like this and yes it is described as a mackerel sky which is apparently an indication of moisture and instability.
