I went for a walk and saw this tree full of bats

@ludwigsdiana there were three trees, all full of them and some were flying off but I was so busy watching them that I didn’t take a photo. Thank you for the fav too

Oh wow they will seriously multiply now. Whenever we go to Raymond Terrace there are hundreds of bats in the trees there close to McDonalds and to be honest the smell of McDonalds burgers and bat poo it is overpowering. ha ha

Yikes!!!! Those are some large bats!!! I have never seen a tree full of bats before. Don’t want to ever see that in person either, 😧

@jb030958 it was quite spectacular watching them all flying around then flying back to one of the trees, wish I’d got a photo of that instead of just watching them 🤪

I know they are most likely fruit bats, but there is something about bats that just give me the heebie jeebies. Nice find though!

Wow- I would want to take pictures and be unnerved by that many at the same time. The only time I've seen bats this large was at Disney World in their Asian park. I distinctly remember the pandas, the tigers, and the HUGE bats sucking away on some of the fruit on the trees (I think it was there for them to eat).

omg - how amazing - I'd so love to see bats like this. We see them flying around at night obviously sometimes but not like this.
