@pyrrhula thank you, I must say this is my fav so far of all the designs I've attempted. this was also my properties most favourite koala, Clinger who disappeared just over a year ago and people still talk about him online. I wish I knew what happened to him, most likely a car, cow or dog as he was healthy
Our dog would lick it to death !! I came off a dairy farm in Gippsland .I saw cows gather around a koala but once the novelty had worn off they walked away and never harmed the koala and the farm dogs never showed any interest in them at all, so i guess you are talking feral dogs.
@peterlgrave I wish I were talking feral dogs, but no. Koalas living in and around towns in particular are at huge risk from dogs, we rescue them after domestic dog attacks every week.
sadly attack by cows is fairly common as well.
of course that does not mean that every dog and every cow will instantly attack and kill koalas :)
@peterlgrave koala behaviour is not easily changed, and they have no natural fear instinct of dogs. Truly this is what happens time and time again - koalas climb a fence into a yard with dogs and are attacked. It is beyond heartbreaking. The large percentage of dog attacks that happen, occur in the dogs own backyard.
The problem is that we are living in the koalas backyards and they don't have anywhere else to go. So if a food tree (and there are less and less of the few trees they can eat around) is in a fenced yard, the koala will go in, or will go through a fenced yard containing a dog to get to the next backyard with a tree.
