This beautiful huge mum came just for a day (maybe I will be lucky and she will come back again) with her joey. She has been named Hope by my fb followers. Look at the leg in the air, like she owns the place and joey sleeping separately is around 9 - 10 months old by that behaviour.
Thank you for the many comments on my photos, I read and appreciate every one.
Lovely stretch. Must feel good to have that big joey out and about on his own. But having watched the video, I see she was very contented to have him back in the pouch
That's a great capture and I love the video clip. I just love to see your pictures and videos and here about Koala Gardens. Are all of your koalas free to come and go as they please but mostly choose to stay around? I'm just fascinated by the whole thing.
@susiemc thank you Sue :) yes these are all wild koalas that come and go as they please. I am regenerating the native habitat, but was already in a natural koala corridor. In the past 3 years since I have been daily recording a lot of data about the individuals (using nose pattern recognition to identify them), there has been an incredible stabilising of the colony here as the 3000 - 4000 new trees are becoming actual habitat.
Now I'm even learning how to use a camera by joining this site so it's really very exciting all the way around.
