Yes Maxine did go back up again, thanks for the many comments on yesterdays photo! The video may be of interest as you don't often see what they look like on the ground.
Awesome

Great shot of this lovely face.
Our dikes ( A part of the Delta works See: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Delta_Works ) are built to prefent us from storm floods witch can be happen once every more then 1000 years.
P.s. My pic.`s are taken on the north border of the Western Scheldt ( Abouth the E of Western ) on the map pic.
For rivers we have an other approach. We build dikes beside it but give the river space (land) on harmless parts to flood over when it rises to much.

Your koalas look so healthy and happy. What a shame we continue to destroy their environment and leave these gorgeous animals so threatened. Why do I have to be listening to the horrors in the world while I write this but never hear of good work that people such as you are doing. Thanks for restoring my faith in the little people who work to make a difference and for bringing joy to my morning.

I have to admit, I laughed out loud watching Maxine on the ground in the video! She looks content in this picture! I agree with Margaret too!

@ubobohobo Margaret you brought a tear to my eye truly - thank you! People love to see my photos but they don't like to hear the truth of the message that in 50 years they will all be gone - in some areas near me they have only 20 years or so. It's a tough truth in a world full of horrors. I know that I am incredibly lucky to live in their backyard as their numbers dwindle daily. Thank you again, I can't tell you what it means when someone 'gets it'!

@koalagardens thank you, i know where you're coming from. I'm battling to save a few ancient iron bark trees with deep hollows from being cut down. Ispent yesterday building gardens around them with native shrubs to try to stop campers coming too close to them. There must be analternative to cutting them down.

@ubobohobo oh old trees with hollows - don't start me I could go on all day! What seems so logical to me - the importance of hollows and that it takes 80-100 years for a tree to develop them - just doesn't seem to get through.
I just secured 3 years funding to put nesting boxes in here for the squirrel glider and little lorikeet (both vulnerable species) to help provide the much needed hollows

Plant spiky things among the native shrubs if you can.
There is always an alternative, it's just that cutting them down is the quickest and most lucrative option :(
