I must be doing something right as the facts of the data I collect and analyse is showing. Already I'm so excited to see what 2018 brings! Thank you 365ers because you have helped me with your constant encouragement.
I absolutely love what you have been able to achieve. that is amazing. And thanks on behalf of some of us that do not have the koala habitat to help, love your work. Any idea why 2016 was a hard year for joey's?
@louisanoffke thank you so much - I'm certainly very lucky to live in their backyard! I have no idea why I had no joeys here in 2016. It was a tough year here - the old alpha male disappeared and I had the only 2 very sick koalas come on the property that I've seen so far. Both had to be caught and were beyond help.
Then at the end of the year, suddenly Maxine, Stevie and Racee moved in, over a month or so of each other, and things went from upwards quickly from there!
I'm sure Mist had a joey in pouch in 2016, but she left the property for a few months and came back with no joey.
In 2017 her joey emerged on the property, she stayed a couple of months, then she left for a few months, then brought the joey back and left him here - that is Enigma that you often see in my photos here.
So 2017 made up for all the sadness of 2016 and it will be many years of data yet before I will know if there is any pattern.
