This photo made me realise for the first time how far away those koalas really are from you. Amazing. Do you need a tripod to capture them?

@nobled yes, they are a long way off even if my photos make it seem like I walk up and photograph them :) I actually just yesterday bought a monopod which I think will help a lot when doing video

but the answer is no - totally hand held sitting on a quad bike!
