Yet another new koala - July is becoming a very busy movement time. I hope she stays, what a stunning young girl! Thank you for amazing questions and so many lovely comments.
@fbailey not so far - there are around 3000 + young trees growing on (most self sown) so the food is slowly increasing. Also because they are wild, every one of these koala are not on the property every day - they move within their home ranges if they are permanent (and their home ranges extend beyond my property boundaries), or they are moving through the larger natural corridor.
I have seen properties where the population kept exploding and exploding and the trees become bare and the population crashes - either disease begins or the koalas simply have to disperse.
My aim is to help other private landowners see how they can do this same thing and we expand habitat and provide connectivity between colonies.
GOOD QUESTION (and my facebook followers are asking similar and discussing lottery syndicates to buy more land lol)
She’s a very pretty young lady. Thank you for taking the time to provide us with so much information about koalas. I love to read your answers to everyone’s questions.
