@carole_sandford the pregnancy is 35 days, and the little pinky crawls into the pouch. Joey then stays there drinking milk for around 6 months.
For the next month or so joey comes out a bit and goes back in, but as joey becomes stronger and bigger, usually somewhere at the 7-8 months can't fit back in, but will put the head in to drink milk.
This joey is likely just curled in mums lap as she is around 8 months old now.

@sailingmusic I so agree - this is a forest red gum. They are a primary koala food tree and I always call them 'the koala tree' because the bark is all exactly koala colours and the way the colours flow into each other is like perfect koala camouflage :) well spotted!
