It is nice to have one close up of each of the girls. They are supposed to go today, but it may be very wet so we will evaluate as the morning unfolds. If it is only light rain we will still catch them.
A lovely close-up. It must be a strange feeling for you when they go - joy that they are OK and going back to where they belong but worry about their future. :)
@terryliv oh yes koalas are territorial but 3 of these are orphaned joeys that have been hand raised. So we replicate the dispersion by placing them somewhere that we have researched as being a good possible fit for them to disperse to.
Meggs will go back to where she was released a few months back, as she had been settling there.
Fey is a little older, but still young, and will go back to where she was rescued a few months ago.
Little Ivy and Bloom have been hand raised from young, Ivy was only 360 g when she came in. They have been raised together and will be released together.
Any adult that is rescued must be released back where they came from 😊 great question!
Cute shot- it's too bad you can't follow them on their journeys to a new home once you release them. I guess it's fun though when they show up if they've been released nearby.
