This was him sleeping just before he woke for the portrait shot I put up for FoR. As you know Jesse has been a very unwell koala for a long time and is now free on my property.
But you can see his fur is brown and kind of dry, his face is a bit thin, and there is a brown staining on his bottom from the many times he had 'the runs' due to his gut issues.
The good news is that he is not losing condition at all, and that bottom is clean and dry, it is just old staining.
I even came back to this tree the next morning and took some photos of his scat 'for the record'. It was a really good size and all the right shape, so with luck he really is going to do well on his own!
The positions they sleep in never fail to entertain- so glad Jesse has not only escaped the enclosure but he's escaped his ill health and is now "wild and free"!
