The National Martyrs' Monument by kork

The National Martyrs' Monument

The original statue was handed over in 1939 in memory of the victims killed by the Soviet Republic. It was demolished in 1945! The Orbán government rebuilt it.
Parliament restored it in 2019.
The man represents Hungarianness, the monster represents Bolshevism.
I have already taken a photo of the other side of the statue.

Few people in western Europe appreciate the heartache imposed on the peoples of Central and Eastern Europe by the Russians. Thanks for sharing this

Your shot is amazing. Awful that the statue was demolished, but I'm glad it was rebuilt.

Nice shot, but I am also interested in the contrast between the two different sculptures in the picture.
