My little town likes to call itself "The Salmon Capital of the World" so I knew we had some fish that would work for the Feature-4-Feb Words of the day, Aquarius/Pisces hiding in our streets. The kids and I headed out in search of fish. We had a lot of fun and found quite a few. These were my favourite. Every year we have a chainsaw carving contest and these were created from a giant cedar log. After the contest the sculptures are put up around town. This is on a busy corner, hence the tight crop and blurred background. I love the details and colours of this piece. It stands probably 8 feet tall.
I love these fish. Great color and textures. You are lucky to live in the salmon capital of the world; it's one of my favorite fish. BTW, last night I made it with a new recipe broiled with a mustard, wine and herbs sauce; it came out really good and everyone loved it.
A town to the north of me likes to call themselves "The salmon capitol of the world" too. It is amazing that this was carved with a chain saw. It is a gorgeous sculpture. Love the colors. Cool shot!
A very interesting capture.
