I didn't take any photos today besides a couple of silly ones not worth posting. This was taken exactly a week ago when we had our first wiener roast on the beach (it feels like forever). My husband and son were playing baseball at the shore with driftwood and rocks while my daughter and I warmed our legs by the fire. It was a lovely evening! Hubby is back at work so we won't see him for two weeks.
I have THANK YOUs to pass along... first, for all the favs that put two of my flower macros on the Top 20 this week. Also, to everyone who has offered travel advice. I love getting the info! So keep it coming if you have stuff to share about Venice, Florence, Cinque Terre, Naples or Rome. I'm madly researching and reading so we'll be able to make the most of our limited time. Not sure how practical my Paris layover is but I'm going to be prepared incase it works out.
love those sparks flying! what a great shot with the folks in the background :) so jealous of your awesome weather (altho' spring may finally be on its way here)
Great shot, makes me feel as if I have sneaked up to the fire and joined you! Also reminds me of the beach fire my girls and I had in La Push a few years ago and the photo I took that I still need to do something with!
I love the flames, great image. We loved Venice and especially the trip round the lagoon. My favourite place however was Florence. So much to see. I do hope you'll have reasonable time there.
What a fun experience to have a fire on the beach. Great capture.
PS. While in Venice, take some time to visit the nearby island of Burano (besides of Murano) It's very interesting and colorful.
When I first looked at this and commented, it must have only partly come up because all I saw was the very impressive fire. Now that I can see the whole scene, it's extra nice. Love the look of the sparks and the background - definitely adds something extra to the shot.
Great capture of the bonfire with flying embers! You might want to consider taking a bicycle tour of Rome. We did it last year and it was an ideal way to see the city up close from the POV of a bicycle seat!
Wonderful shot
I stayed on one of the islands when in Venice ~ was beautiful ~ we took the water taxis to other islands and as @anazad511 says ~ Burano is amazingly coourful ~ it was raining when we went and the streets were almost under water [take your wellies! :D]
Very cool picture!
