A Critter by kwind

A Critter

I looked out the kitchen window today and spotted this critter running around like it was on drugs zigzagging every which way at the front of our house. I took a video and then made a screen shot so the quality isn't great. I'm not sure what it even is but I've seen similar on the beach side of the property before.
What a fun shot -- he looks so out of place! Great sense of context.

Great capture of this critter, is it an otter? I really like the patterned reflections too.

It looks like an otter. We had river otters when we lived in Illinois. They used to play in our friend's yard. Fun to watch.

Looks like an otter to me.

@jgpittenger I agree, too small, more likely a ferret or weasel

Critter is a good name if it can't be identified! Perhaps this wee mite might be rather scared - where does he go for safety!

Cute but so out of place, I hope he finds his way back. Found out what is was??

Great catch...the wet drive and reflections add so much interest!

Looks like rain in a lot of places - wonder how he wound up there!

He must of been having fun playing in the rain

Hope he finds shelter from the rain.

Great shot of your playful little visitor, love the reflections.

I thought 'weasel' or 'stoat' but don't know if you get these with you? Otter must be a possibility, but looks small.
January 3rd, 2021
That is adorable! I wonder what it is?

What a fun experience! I'd guess weasel of some sort, but not sure about that short tail. I'd be interested to know if you find out what it is!

What a cool shot of your visitor
January 3rd, 2021
I thought maybe a weasel or a stoat, but my preference would be a weasel as they have shorter tails than stoats.

Cute

Provided it is not a rat, which it doesn't seem to be and looks more like a weavel, he is very cute. Lovely shot, too.
