I found this incredible shell on the beach this morning. I think it was an oyster shell that has been eaten or corroded. The texture and details were crazy. I had my husband hold it as it resembled a mask. In this shot I focused on his eye so his shell is blurry. In the alternate version I focused on the shell. http://365project.org/kwind/365/2012-08-11

I can see why you couldn't chose between the two - i honestly love them both! i think this one just tips it for me....although you lose the texture of the shell which is a shame i love "people pictures" =) both awesome though!
such a great idea! wonderful shot! i love both but if i had to choose i would choose the other one! just because the texture of the shell is way too cool!
Ohhhh, I can't decide which one. I love the texture but am distracted by the blurred eye in the other one. Did you try a narrower aperture to get both into it or was he too far away from the shell?
@traeumerlein Let's just say my model was less than cooperative! Not a lot of time to fiddle with the settings unfortunately. Your suggestion was next on my list. That's for your comment and idea.
