I hate walking into spider webs. Sometimes the light is right and you can't see them I believe there is a saying about how high they build their webs and the relation as to how cold the winter will be.
I nearly did the same yesterday, I was feeding the neighbours fish in the pond and turned my head sideways to see a spider in a large cobweb right by my face.
