Our cousin (more like a sister to my mom) died yesterday after an extended illness, many months spent in a nursing home. I was reminded of a story from 2013 - some of her friends didn't think she needed to buy these rather expensive Christmas dishes (at her advanced age) but she had wanted them for quite some time. While it is true that she only used them a few times, she loved them and enjoyed setting them out during the holiday season. She'd be happy that I shared them with you. Thanks for stopping by today.
This is a beautiful photograph of her dishes. What a lovely gesture on your part to share them one more time with more people than she probably ever could have. You are a truly thoughtful and giving person, Lin. I am sorry for your loss
What a wonderful capture of something so dear to her heart. I'm pleased to read that she purchased her "dream" regardless of age and time! And now you have something to treasure as a wonderful memory. I hope it helps you though your grief. fav
My condolences, but she is right! Use the crystal...use the china....wear that fancy negligee.....don't save things for that special occasion. Enjoy them now, because we never know when our time will come. In the meantime, it will create wonderful memories. :)
I am so sorry she is gone, but so glad she bought and enjoyed these lovely dishes, and, in fact, lived while she was alive, if you know what I mean! And I'm glad that you are celebrating her by showing us something she loved.
