Columbia Bottom Conservation Area is on the south side of the Missouri River, at the confluence with the Mississippi River. There is a viewing platform at this slough, I like the late afternoon sun backlighting the leaves. According to Wikipedia, "In North America, 'slough' may refer to a side-channel from or feeding a river, or an inlet or natural channel only sporadically filled with water."
