@dutchothotmailcom this area, which sits between the Mississippi and Missouri rivers, was devastated in the Great Flood of 1993 (google it for details). But there have been a couple of notable floods since then. Most recently, a pretty severe on in 2019. Eventually people get tired of rebuilding, I suppose.
