I planted 6 of these about 2-3 weeks ago. They are doing really well. 4 of the 6 are blooming and the other 2 should bloom soon. I used a flash for most of the shots but I liked the exposure best on this one (no flash). Focus was better on the others but I just liked the softness and composition of this shot.
@tesssa Thanks Tessa. I checked my photos and about 40% were using a flash. It you use your flash properly no one will be able to tell you used a flash the photo will look like you had perfect lighting. Doesn't usually work that way for me. More trial and error than anything else. It was overcast today so the light was more even and diffused, shouldn't have even taken the flash out. Fill flash can really help if your flower has shadows that need to be evened out. I am self taught so most of my photography is a learning experience.
@tesssa If you haven't checked out Adorama, they have video in their learning center. Bryan Peterson can be really corny in some of the videos but he really knows exposure. I have a couple of his books. He did 2 really good short videos in January. "Using Flash for Contrast" and one on using a polarizing filter. Don't know how we ever survived without the internet. :)
I only have bad photos today; as in really bad. So they can wait until tomorrow.
