We were celebrating my sister's golden wedding here. They had come down from the North Island especially to dine here in Moeraki, South Island, NZ, as it is virtually world famous for her cuisine - fresh from the ocean and fresh from the ground. This is the view from one of the windows to demonstrate how close to the sea this little restaurant is built!
We shared a large complete crayfish - enough for six! And the rest - ....Blue Cod, Whitebait fritter (big as a plate) mussels and lamb shanks! Then fresh strawberries and home made vanilla icecream!
A friend of mine ate there late last year. She and her mum turned up, not really expecting to be seated but they were looked after very well. They also loved their meals.
The water and the boats have a painterly feel to them! I thought maybe it was trompe l'oeil maybe....that sounds like the best meal and congrats to your sister!
This is one of my favorite things about 365. I get to see gorgeous settings from all over the world! It's better than watching the Travel Channel! That water is SO beautiful and the food y'all had made me salivate! (Saying this while eating a hot dog for supper. HAHAHAHA!)
@thendrix58 Thanks Terry - yes - every morning for me - what am I going to see now around the world - Scotland, Wales, England, Florida, Maryland, Louisianna, Canada, Amsterdam, Phillipines, Hawaii, Australia, NZ -- none in Antarctica funnily enough!
