No longer a hotel by maggiemae

No longer a hotel

As is obvious this has been in disrepair for some time. I don't think anyone lives here but someone must own it. It is only a short distance to the new cycle trail, Alps to Ocean, so if someone wanted to renovate it, it could be a good proposition. The Trail runs from Mt Cook in the South Island, NZ down to the ocean in Oamaru.

Three good things:
I. I have achieved a further step in photography - getting a blurred background. Found instructions.
2. The birds are all singing their hearts out in the trees.
3. Lovely bike ride this morning to this place.
Go for it Maggie! You could renovate it and Mr. Man and Yolanda could invite all their biker friends! Neat building and nice shot.

Maggie, this is a great shot, love it!!

Great capture of the old place -- it definitely has good bones. Someone should invest time and money and restore it. It puzzles me to see buildings like this -- who owns them? Why have they been abandoned?

Wow, that is quite the place, and surely it has a long hisotry

Wonderful shot of decay but also former glory.

This could be made into a beautiful building Maggie, great find and capture.

Must have been a fine building in its day. Let's hope somebody renovates it before it is too late./ And congratulations on the cycle ride!

I hope that there is no ghost inside

Now that would be a good idea to circulate! Thanks, @yaorenliu Yao!

August 25th, 2013
Great find Maggie. This sounds like it would be a possible great investment for the right person
August 25th, 2013
It certainly has a lot of potential! Wonder what all the boxes are from under the deck.
August 25th, 2013
It looks as if it was once a lovely house. Shame it's falling into disrepair. Lovely sharp shot.
August 25th, 2013
I can definitely see potential here. I love all those windows and it looks like a nice chunk of property. I even see a bird house! Beautiful shot and great find!
August 25th, 2013
This looks in not bad nick...the windows are all in & the hedges are cut round the front door....even a post box!! A rather beautiful home for someone with a bit of DIY skills.

What a beauiful old hotel!
August 25th, 2013
Really interesting capture Maggiemae, i love the textures especially. I see there are still curtains in some windows and other things inside, wouldn't it be fascinating to be able to see the inside and photograph that?

Jo
It looks very sad and neglected, love the processing, great job.
August 25th, 2013
Lovely effect here, almost surreal. What a waste if it remains empty, it would be a stunning home
August 25th, 2013
I'm surprised no one's snapped it up! It's crying out for some TLC.
August 26th, 2013
