I’m going to have to struggle with photos from now on - been so easy travelling! Now I’m surrounded by the familiar and I feel I’ve photographed everything in the last 4 years!
This shot was taken later in the evening when the setting sun shone on the old hospital on the hill opposite us across the valley. These old buildings are going to be demolished and a retirement village is finally going to be built! Its only taken about 15 years!
I think I’m Ok in my retirement home here except I don’t have a button to push, unless you count John!
Three good things:
1. Weeded the rose garden as well as the veggie garden - it seems to be John’s interest now - the broad beans beckon!
2. Quickly changed the fluffy sheets of the winter with the cool sheets of summer!
3. Watching TV with feet up while it drizzled outside!
Nice framing, Maggie. I'm just counting the days until I retire and will have the time to wander a little afield. I feel as though I've captured (many times over) EVERYTHING between my house and my office.
Loved your comment re button pushing! Remember, for you the area is familiar, but for the rest of us, it's exotic! A beautiful scene in the evening light.
A beautiful vista & its home so even better! You can always post one of the many you will have saved from your holiday, shame to waste them! We don't mind fillers!! I am just changing sheets to flannelette!
@happypat I don't want to spoil my record of one a day, though, Pat. At the moment I think I'll just take a picture of a huge heap of rhubarb, I've got to cook! Sigh!
@maggiemae oh dear it sounds like you have post holiday blues! It's hard to get going again isn't it? You will soon be back to normal I am sure! As Taffy said we love to see photos of where you live especially as the seasons change - such a stark contrast to us in the UK! Keep them coming!
Beautiful shot and framing. Most of my shots come from my own backyard. It is difficult for me to keep up the motivation too. You do such a good job though of finding interesting things to shoot and different perspectives.
@pamknowler I do have those blues, Pam - find myself getting annoyed at things and waking in the middle of the night etc. I shall come out of that tunnel shortly!

my everyday surroundings pale in comparison to my travel images.
