Staveley Store and cafe

Nothing special today - it was cold and windy, and then rain. We went down for lunch and sat down at this outside table and chatted with this fellow aged 80 who used to have some connection with Mt Peel Station and Mt Somer's Station. By himself, now living alone after a huge farming life and his companion was a fat spaniel with permed hair!
Thankful for:
A good book
Isn’t it lovely when you can sit and chat with locals. There is so much to be said about not hurrying when on holiday. I’ll bet he was pleased to have a chat.

@dide you are so right! I didn’t want to get too involved but he was sitting at the same table and remarked on everything I said. I said there’s nothing wrong with your ears! He agreed and John and he had a great old talk about farming in the ‘50’s!

It couldn’t have been too cold if he was sitting there in short sleeves. Sounds like an entertaining afternoon and a terrific shot of your travels
