Sometimes, in some situations, no matter how close you get, it's hard to see the light at the end of the tunnel. The important part is to not lose hope, but to reach out in faith and believe that the light IS at the end of the tunnel even if for now there is only a faint glow.
Knowles Creek Tunnel / Ralph A. Petersen Tunnel, 1958
What an awesome pov, Becky! Love the golden glow and the textures from the concrete. And how perfect your comment fits in with this. It's truly beautiful. Yes, it's all about faith and belief, isn't it. :)
@jgpittenger
LOL - I pulled over and walked out in the middle of the road. Noise of cars coming into the tunnel wasn't a problem, however, the cars that might have come up behind me were not as noisy. Took some shots off the side of the road FIRST to get my setting correct, then waited and moved in when all was quiet.

Gosh Tammi, thank you SO much for the FAV! @bk12racing

Thank you Karen - "Mama said there'd be days like this, there'd be days like this, Mama said."

Thank you Sharon. This tunnel is between Eugene and the Oregon Coast. ...and what a blessing that today is the 15th birthday of your precious girls.
@parisouailleurs
Yes, I'm definitely excited! Thank you for stopping by and leaving such a lovely comment. Maybe this year I'll add tunnels to my wish list. I do want to photo the remaining lighthouses and bridges on the Oregon Coast - I think Album 1 has three of the lighthouses - now I have the first tunnel along the Coast.
Welcome to your second year. I am the person who said the "randoms" thread had been hijacked - glad you enjoyed that. I am a fan of your state - visited and traveled around last year - super lovely. Also, one of my favorite bloggers lives in Portland. Oh yeah, great photo here.
@woot
Oh goodness, I have SO been there where I've trashed all the shots of something - gotta just pick that camera up and ... well, you know, take more photos.
@meisen325
I don't know how much more I can say than I already did on your homepage. I still laugh when I think about how you hijacked that thread. LOVE IT!

Thank you Sara. @nanalisarocks
First off I love that you are a Nana ... my granddaughters call me Bebe. Be careful when taking a "standing in the middle of the road and traffic is coming, shot". I suggest a PointMan be with you. I was lucky that it was a quiet morning.

You win for funniest comment! I waited until all cars were gone before stepping out into the middle of the road.
Thank you Ben. The light was perfect!

Thank you for seeing so much in this photo.
I was shocked that see that the "monkeys" found my photo and chose it for the PP. It's exciting. Thank you so much for your kindness.
Thank you SO much for your kind encouragement.
I just couldn't imagine not continuing the Project. I brings balance and focus to my life.

Thank you Jane - composition is more difficult when the subject is so much of the photo ... at least it is for me.
Thank you Sara.

I too love geometry in photos.- my greatest challenge is to go for feel and not be so rule driven.
