The Empress Hotel Sans Ivy by mamabec

The Empress Hotel Sans Ivy

Two noticeable things have changed at the Empress Hotel in Victoria, British Columbia - the building used to be covered in Ivy and the roof was oxidized copper. The Ivy is gone and the roof cleaned.
They say ivy is bad for buildings but it does soften an edifice.

So true but our memories are of the Empress covered with ivy and the roof the tarnished copper color just like the Parliament Building. It is still a very stately hotel. Did not go to Afternoon Tea.
