Ice is serious business in my house, so I totally understand. My title would be "washing machine shopping, again." I've been able to trick it into working for the last three years. It picked four days before the great migration back to college to give up completely. Sigh.
@wiesnerbeth oh no! Now I understand the laundromat. I thought the same thing about the coffee maker. Speaking of which, my coffee maker died this week too. Cruel blow.
@margonaut Maybe there's something in the air causing all the appliances to give up. My air conditioner just stopped working for no apparent reason on Sunday afternoon. It was terribly inconvenient as I was frantically drying all the clothes I'd just brought back from the laundromat and trying to clean the laundry room for the arrival of the new washer. It wasn't even that hot outside. On Monday the AC at home was back on but it was broken at work. Protest? Vacation? Sigh.

@margonaut Well we are doomed. I have to tell you I had never heard of Mercury being in retrograde before reading this article -- here's something really funny. The article says it effects travel and that coincidences are possible. So tonight my friend and I went to the county fair. It's normally a 20-23 minute drive, but it took us 2 hours to get there. Then, standing in the funnel cake line we ran into the mother of a student that both of us had taught in first grade. She moved away from our school five years ago, but for some reason I was thinking about this girl a couple of days ago and remembering this bear she made me. So, I'm a total believer!
