These are great! Are they elastic on the sides?

@wiesnerbeth yes, elastic. For these first ones, all I had was elastic from an old fitted sheet. Seems like years ago.

@margonaut So smart! I don’t have any elastic, but I do have an old fitted sheet. My son made ours out of a bandanna, a coffee filter and two rubber bands. My mom says she feels like she need oxygen after wearing hers in the grocery store.

@wiesnerbeth At some point I used a fitted flannel sheet for the back of a quilt and saved the elastic-y edges to tie up quilts on pool noodles. (I promise I am not a hoarder or sheet murderer.) That bandanna/coffee filter mask sounds pretty creative. Also, please tell your mom not to go to the grocery.

@margonaut Ok, so I don’t know anything about the intersection of pool noodles, elastic, and quilts so I’m reserving judgement on the hoarding — hahaha (know that I’m a little worried about my own hoarding tendencies . . .)! And . . . My mom is so stubborn! She never listens to anyone and she would never trust anyone to get her groceries. Her next door neighbor made her a mask and she did wear it, so that’s something.
