Our New Year's craft was stamp-carving

Susan made a bug (inspired by one that got caught in my hair) and Scott made a sunshine. The rest are mine. Fun and easy.

I have always wanted to do that! But also worried about starting a new craft that will require many many new supplies . . .

@wiesnerbeth good news! There are almost no supplies needed. Just a little carving tool (with different nibs) and the pink stuff to carve. You probably already have a stamp pad or two. Look up Mel Beach on IG, she does incredible stuff.

@margonaut You are a bad influence! Now I’m in love with Mel Beach and I have to find the pink stuff — I found one of those tools in my scissors drawer. No idea where it came from.

@wiesnerbeth Tell me about it! Isn't her stuff unbelievable?!? I signed up for an online class that Mel recommended - from Julie Balzer - and you can go down the rabbit hole watching stamp carvers on youtube. I ordered a big (letter size) piece of the pink stuff on amazon and the little stamps we made are only 1" square. You can make lots of those real quick. And there's no pressure, no great loss if you do something "wrong".
