I am not a sandspur...

This lovely little plant is often mistaken for a sandspur. It's Annual Greenhead Sedge and it is native to the Carolinas and Georgia - documented growing wild and will often come up in yards. It won't hurt to step on it barefoot, unlike sandspurs which are very painful. The little heads are soft and pliable.
Great focus and details !
