I am forced to look at it every day. It doesn't take the TV, radio or internet to see it. Just look around your own little world. I am NOT an alarmist and never have been. But, it really is beginning to feel like this nation is on the precipice of a very bleak and dark abyss... reaping exactly what we have allowed the corrupt to sow. I learned a very long time ago that even a "lack of action is still an action for which there are consequences you will suffer from it." My prayer is for better days, a recovering economy, and jobs! Especially, for those of us over 55 that want to work and earn an honest living. You are blessed, if you still have a job. Remember to thank God that you do! I'll even be brave enough to stand up and ask you to pray for this nation. "Fair weights and measures" are things of honest men - despised by the corrupt. It really doesn't take a rocket scientist to connect the dots in what we've become and how far we have fallen from grace. What's really scary is what the network media is NOT saying. It's just the ugly truth of it.
This pic has been rotated, flipped and cropped. Another one for the "mirror-inyourhand" challenge as ugly as it may be.
A reflection on the truth. A clever pic, Maggie, and very thoughtful. I admire what you have to say, and your nation is not alone - most of the developed world - and the developing countries - have been beguiled into thinking the past cannot catch up.
What a powerful truth. You do not have to be an alarmist to see what is happening. I am thankful everyday for my job and pray that others will soon be able to say the same. Very insightful shot!
@janturnbull Ahh, Janet - at this moment you are reminding me of "the knights of the old code." I think you are a brave soul for even commenting on this pic! Not only that, but saying what you said! No, we are not alone as a nation in serious trouble. I know they exist among us but, I will never understand why some are bent on destroying what is good and true. How they manipulate and spin evil into good and lies into false truths. But, I ramble! Will shut up now! Thank you for your kind comments! They are most appreciated and may God bless you and your loved ones!
Preach it Maggie!! We as a nation are where are because we the people have failed to elect honest people to represent us. We send them off and don't pay attention to what they are doing or bills they are passing. It's time we wake up before it's too late. By the grace of God I pray it isn't too late!
Yup, it's a scary world/ scary economic times and I pray that especially for people my age who are just starting to make their way in the world (and for good retirement options for those over 55).
Unfortunately, I think we as a nation have turned our backs on God.
@kerristephens I think you're right, Kerri! Even preachers haven't taught the whole gospel for more than 70 years. They're afraid of jeopardizing the tax status of their church. I pray God hears our prayers!
@denisedaly Thank you, Denise! You are blessed, gal!
You know that I agree with every word that you said, Maggie. I stand by you. It will take alot to turn things around now ... from the government to the churches and even the people. I really fear for this country..and I am not an alarmist either. A great photo and comment.
@karenann I fear it will have to get worse before more eyes are opened and by then, we may be under martial law and elections postponed indefinitely. Thank you for your brave comments and remarks, gal! I'll not forget it, either!
Well said. I may not live in the U.S. but we will be heading back in a few years. It makes me very sad to see the way things are going right now. We pray ever day for our leaders.
Amen and amen. Well said and all we can do is pray & have faith. It seems there are fewer and fewer people for our children to look up to these days and unfortunately many admire the wrong ones. I try my best to keep positive & thankful, but have a tendency to be a soap box queen at times---especially when watching the news.
@sangwann I know, Dione, and if we're heading for "one world government," we are all done for. I hope and pray that's NOT the case. Thank you for your comments, as always!
@cimes1 Carole, I don't have to watch the news to see it. All I have to do is go into town and look around at the closed businesses, empty buildings, high gas and grocery prices and the poor people in Walmart. A man in the parking lot asked me for $2 for gas the last time I went and I didn't have any cash to give him. As always, thank you for your comments!
@marlboromaam They just closed 13 Albertsons supermarkets yesterday in Florida and nearly 1500 people are out of work--600 in the Orlando area. Foreclosures are on the rise and taxes will be going up at the end of the year. Oh yes, but times are good .... don't get me started...LOL
@cimes1 Our way of life is so very, very fragile right now. It's just too damn scary these days, Carole. i know what you mean about getting started, too.
Unfortunately, I think we as a nation have turned our backs on God.
@binny Thank you, Binny!
@kerristephens I think you're right, Kerri! Even preachers haven't taught the whole gospel for more than 70 years. They're afraid of jeopardizing the tax status of their church. I pray God hears our prayers!
@denisedaly Thank you, Denise! You are blessed, gal!
@yonnie Appreciate your comments, Yvonne! I hope and pray you have something to come back to. It gets scarier every day!
