Repairing and colourising an old image

I spent most of yesterday and then this morning repairing a badly torn image of my brother's class at primary school. I then went on to colourise it. I do this to learn the process and am pleased with the result. The person who sent it is pleased with the outcomes too! I sent him a sepia and black and white copy as well.
Did you manage to mask the mortar in the brickwork or did you have to do brick by brick?

@sjoyce I had to mend all the tears using Photoshop turning it monochrome from a strong sepia. I then I put it into My Heritage Colorize and that did most of the the wall, but the children looked very odd, some with grey legs and hands. The colour of the uniform was incorrect and odd looking. So I took it back into PS to colourise it correctly and modifying some of the bricks as I went along!

Nice job. I don't have enough mono images to make it worthwhile grtting specific software.
