In Dutch it is 'Zebra in de nesten' where 'in de nesten' means 'in trouble' and 'nesten' obviously means 'nests'. This work, made by Herman Lamers in 2015 consists of three nests, one with and two without zebra.
After the bombing of Rotterdam in 1940 the Zoo was destroyed. According to the stories 'zebras walked on the streets and seals swam freely in the canal. As a tribute to those stories Lamers made this artwork with a lost zebra on a bird nest, looking towards the Zoo, now situated a mile to the north-west.
I love the piece and your capture of it. The story is so interesting. It's easy to forget that war does dreadful things to all living creatures, not just humans.
