No Dogs Allowed

I took a leashed Annie for a walk today (poop bags in hand) on this nearly empty beach. After a short time we were approached by a park ranger who told us to leave, dogs aren't allowed until Oct. 1st. I had thought any time after Labor Day was the rule. I'm a rule follower but I have to admit I thought it was pretty silly considering no one was there!

rather wonderful photo and beach , I think UK tourist beaches tend to exclude dogs between may and September , so perhaps it;s a common restriction
