Poppy Palaver! by countrylassie

Poppy Palaver!

Well, set off from sunny West Cumbria at 8.30 this morning to see the poppies in London. Got to Lancaster (64 miles) to discover all trains to London cancelled/massively delayed due to a derailment down south. These are the only poppies I saw (on my lovely friends wrist and lapel).
Oh no! You must be devastated. Will you get another chance before they close?

Came home (after literally falling off the train at Seascale) and burst into tears, bloody hormones! Don't know if I can be bothered, need to claim back £92 first :(

What a shame Lesley, hope you do manage to see this beautiful display. I too, would love to see it but it is too far from sunny Queensland. I am happy to view other 365ers images though :)

What a shame! :(

Oh Lesley, what a disappointing day. I was lucky enough to see them last Friday when I was near London for half term. It would have been horribly crowded. I believe that they are not dismantling them until the end of November and then it will take them until January to get them all out. If you think how long it has taken them to put them up... At least you were with Sarah and not on your own. x

What a bummer. If it's any consolation - and I'm sure it's not - I was in London today and the word was you could hardly get near the place. And back in May I was in Seascale for a few hours.

Oh my what a disappointment. Perhaps you will have another opportunity. On a side note, what a rather nice trains. Ours in the US do *not* look so nice - the majority anyway. Unfortunately the passengers have no general respect for the next or future passengers.

Thank you all for your kind words. @hermann hello to you from a wet Cumbria, @daffodill @callymazoo (did you get any photos) @hopelessromantic (today - your words make me feel slightly better I would not have been happy elbowing my way through!) What were you doing in Seascale? and @icamera this train was nice and I'm sorry to hear that commuters are not respectful in the U.S. :(

@countrylassie not very good ones as by the time we walked from Waterloo it was dusky, but I did put todays picture of the volunteers up from there.I have seen better ones of the general poppies from others so I doubt I will put them on here.

@hopelessromantic I hope that you visited Mawsons ice cream parlour in Seascale - not to be missed. My hot chocolate photo from todays 2nd file was from there. :-)
