Good photo Marilyn, this is Teasel the flower is purple, used in the woolen mills for carding the wool. It is a Gr8 shot.

I am amazed at such detail in your photo's. You are very good. May I ask what camera you have? I am thinking about getting a better one and not sure which one to get. I need all the help I can get lol.

Great composition. It is surprising that this could be so pretty. Those burrs look like the ones I got caught in my hair as a child. They were so entangled, I had to have them cut out.

@miata2u Thank you so much for the wonderful comment. I use a Canon EOS DIGITAL REBEL XS. It is my husband's camera but he lets me use it. :) I also have a Coolpix point and shoot that I use sometimes. The Canon is definitely better for macros.

@dannydavies @pyrrhula Thank you for helping identify the flower. I looked it up and it does look like a Dipsacus teasel. Now I know what it is.
