Pieris with snow on it

I'm guessing we've gotten about 7 inches of snow so far and it looks like it is slowing down now and is probably ending.

Thank you so much for your encouraging comments and favs.
Ooh! We've been aware of it on radio and TV .....keep cosy!

I wish we got snow. All we got is ice. My son was just outside ice skating in the yard.

Ooh that looks cold, hope you don't get anymore, I have been listening about the weather in your part of the world, it doesn't sound good, stay safe.!

A beautiful wintry look! With 'only' seven inches, you should be out and about again soon!

Poor thing looks so cold. Great shot.

I am thankful that I didn't have to shovel 7" of snow out of my driveway! We were right on the northern edge so we escaped with only flurries. Those poor people on the coast though between snow and wind didn't fair well at all.

Stay safe and warm.

Great winter shot...the east coast is getting hit hard with snow storms

Interesting contrasts here, I'm a bit envious of your snow

I helped deliver the Pittsburgh Press Sunday edition when you had to work to pull the a wagon thru the snow. The man that delivered the bundles of papers to us had a Chevy station wagon and it was dragging its underside, made a nice trench thru the snow.

We go very good tips that week :-)

Stay warm.

That looks very thick and permanent Marilyn. The leaves look like they are wilting under the weight of the snow.

Hope the Pieris will survive you winter. So sorry for all you troubles with snow I`ve seen on T.V. in the U.S.A. So sorry for the many victims .

Beautiful chilly image! It certainly was a pretty morning, wasn't it? Hard to believe this was our biggest snowstorm this Winter and January is almost coming to a close. Stay warm!

Like the contrast an the winter snow making me feel cold.

@skipt07 I thought you would be getting more than us Skip. My husband did have to snow blow our driveway. I felt really bad for all the people stuck out on the turnpike for over 15 hours.

@byrdlip You comment was so interesting, J A. Love it. Aww, the good old days. Thank you for sharing it.

@pyrrhula Thank you Pyrrhula. The Pieris should make it through the winter without a problem. It has been here for many, many years through all kinds of weather without harm. It is actually one of my favorite plants.

@janetb Thank you Janet. I agree, it was really pretty outside this morning. It sure has been a mild winter and is hard to believe that this all we've gotten so far with January being almost over.

That poor plant

@mittens - Normally we do, but this time the storm came up out of the South so we were spared as it curved to the east just south of us.

Burrrrrrrrrrr, that just looks soooo cold!!! It is really cold here too. This is GA and we are at 29 with a wind chill of 21 and supposed to get much colder tonight!!! Lawd how I hate the cold and snow!!! Nice composition!

Great shot! It looks like the snow is slowing down in PA now!!

What a beautiful photo. Sounds so cold there. Is 7 inches a lot more than you get at one time? We are getting the much needed rain we have needed for 4 years and happy about it and the snow in the mountains as well. Stay warm. FAV

Take care Marilyn. Your snow is making news headlines here in the UK. Great shot but it does look cold.
January 24th, 2016
Lovely shot of that snow sitting on the leaves :)
January 24th, 2016
We heard all about it on the local news media. Stay safe and warm. And we grumble because the temperature has dropped to max 14C - and we have reason to because we are not used to it.
January 24th, 2016
@darsphotos Thank you Darlene. 7 inches is probable a little more than we would normally get but it is not unusual. 3 to 5 inches is would mostly be a typical storm here. It can vary greatly, though.

The green leaves and white snow make a lovely fresh combination.
January 24th, 2016
@mittens I am glad you got the snow and not too much compared to so many others digging out of it. We will have fog for a few days and maybe more rain on Friday. A true Winter here.
