Pennsylvania forest by mittens

Pennsylvania forest

We took a little weekend getaway trip last weekend and ended up in a Pennsylvania forest. Most of it was pretty dense with trees, many were pines, but this is one of the few areas we saw that was sparse in trees.
I thought it looked really interesting. We were hoping to see some wildlife but saw none. It looks chilly there but it probably made it close to 80's F that day.

We were also surprised that the trees hadn't started blooming yet. I guess because being in northern PA and because of our long winter, the leaves are late in coming.
it looks like a dead forrest! is there any leaves on the trees yet in PA?

@parisouailleurs Thank your for commenting Helene and asking about the leaves. I meant to explain that but forgot. I was surprised the trees didn't have leaves on them. Since this was in northern PA, I guess they are behind us on the spring blooms.

They look like a petrified forest, waiting. Hope you get the chance to catch it again in leaf!

Great natural shot of the barren forest. I can just fill the quietness and brisk air looking at this.

Wonderful capture, I like the lonely feel of the image.

Does look very cool and sparse, that blue sky peeping through offers hope though;0)
