Our first alligator sighting for this trip. He's just a medium sized gator......spending a lazy afternoon out of the water. Considering the temperatures today I'm sure he's found a much warmer place to spend the day.....they like basking in the sun with temps much higher than today's mid 50's !
@cimes1 - this was taken at Collier-Seminole State Park, Carole......a couple of days ago when it was a little warmer. Larry & I tend to search out areas where we're more apt to see wildlife......we'll get in at least 2 or 3 visits to the Everglades during our 2 month stay this year. So we often see alligators while here in Florida but rarely in captivity. Botanical gardens are also a favorite......we're probably the exception when visiting FL.....we love the warm weather but rarely spend time at the beach !
