Today is the day in fallas totally dedicated to children. Only the children's fallas are up (completely), and later this afternoon the prizes will be announced. Each falla has organised games for kids all day long, and they have the time of their lives.
This is a small children's falla in my neighbourhood. When I went by, they were still waiting for the judges, and quite nervous.
@willamartin It's in Valencia, Spain. The festival takes place every March, from the 16th to the 19th. Right now, there are about 800 fallas up around the city - 400 "big" ones, 400 "children's" ones. They will all be burnt on the 19th at midnight.
@willamartin The fallas criticise the things we don't like, so burning them means to burn bad things and start new, better ones, just as spring begins. But, from a practical point of view, they are too big to have in the streets all year round!
