Fallera's hairdo

This is how women wearing the traditional regional outfit wear their hair - this hairdo is an important part of the outfit.
Fun fact: if you are training as a hairdresser in Valencia, being able to do this hairdo is a basic requirement of the course.
Goodness me that's intricate and doesn't look comfortable

Great photo

@30pics4jackiesdiamond Thanks! - It is more confortable than it looks; some ladies even sleep in it (after removing the metal ornaments)

Fabulous. Is it mostly done for weddings and special occasions? I imagine it takes some time.

@tinley23 Thanks! It's only done when you are wearing the traditional regional outfit, so mostly during fallas or in Fallas-related activities. A skilled hairdresser can do it in in less than half an hour!
@willamartin @ingrid01 @bigmxx Thanks a lot!
@pamalama @bkbinthecity Thanks! It's not as difficult as it seems - some ladies are even able to do their hair themselves, and many others learn to do it to other people just by watching their mums/grannies do it. Since nowadays ladies's hair is not long enough for that, some hairpieces are used. Most women have them done with their own hair, so the colour will match. In many cases, mothers let their little girls's hair grow until it's long enough to make a hairpiece. My mum still has mine and my sisters'!
